Connor Playing Ball with Bella

It's so cute, Mike has really been working with Connor on throwing the ball for Bella. Recently Connor has picked up Mike's fake-outs with Bella and thinks its really fun to fake-out Bella with the ball. This is not the best that he's done, but it's the best that I've got recorded. If I can manage to record more tomorrow, I will.

Christmas Time

We waited a long time to put up the tree because I knew it was going to be a challenge to keep the kids away from it due to the fact that the only place we had room for it was right in the middle of the living room. This year we borrowed a fake tree from my parents, partially because we were all sick for about two weeks and didn't have the energy to go out and cut down a tree. We took down the tree last night and the kids helped Mike put the branches in the box.

This year I had hoped to make the kids some stockings but I didn't have a pattern, so I tried anyway and it didn't work out so well. So I'll have to try again next year. Fortunately the kids had their stockings from last year I was able to use.

We spent Christmas Eve with Mike's family and the kids had a blast. We gathered at his sister Amber's first and then migrated over to his Aunt and Uncle's house afterwards.
Christmas morning we spent together at our house and then had everyone over at our house at 1pm with Grandpa Maurice, Uncle Brent, Grandpa Craig, Grandma Christi, Uncle Chris and Aunt Lindsey. Chris and Linsdey brought over Carlia who is Michael Jr's age. Carlia is the daughter of one of Lindsey's girlfriends who is in Seattle for some major medical problems with blood clots just after the birth of her second child a few weeks ago. We had a really good time and the kids played well together.
At 3pm we all went over to Cousin Janet and Kevin's home for Christmas Dinner and had good fellowship with family (already listed) and friends April with daughters Sierra and Kiana as well as Wanda and her mother, Helen. Uncle Brent made Grandma Angie's pies for dessert and they turned out well (see picture).

Sleep Walking?

Mike woke up this morning at 4am because he saw the lights on in the kid's room and the living room. We both got up right away. Both kids were in bed, but at sometime in the middle of the night Michael had gotten up and was a very busy boy playing in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Now, I can't figure out if he was sleep walking and doing this or was actually awake and went back to bed.

He had gotten out his coloring book and crayons in the kitchen, they were laying on the floor. He had situated a pillow and blanket on the couch and played with his 'Mac' (from the movie Cars) and he had lined up some cars and the entrance of his bed room.

Michael's 'Nap Time' with Chocolates and Pooping in a Basket

I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to post this VERY entertaining post that happened two days ago.

I had put both kids down for a nap and was working on various paperwork and doing some blogging. I was going to the back to use the bathroom for the umpteenth time that day and...

I found Michael Jr. sitting on his bed carefully unwrapping a piece of chocolate. He was sitting there with a big smile on his chocolate-covered face. There were numerous wrappers in the container and a piece of chocolate on the floor. He had somehow found it in the box of Christmas gifts that I was working on in my bedroom.

After I put the chocolate away and Jr. situated to continue his nap I resumed my paperwork and blogging.

Then I went back to check on him to make sure he was still in bed and Connor was starting to make some noise. I got to their room and it smelled like Connor had a poopy diaper. The on second glance, Michael didn't have his pants or underwear on and was sitting at his little table and proudly exclaimed to me "Mommy, I went poop." The bathroom door was closed in the hallway and I hadn't heard it open or close, I was starting to get a little nervous as to where he went poop. He was rather proud of himself and pulled out a basket that I usually put his pajamas in and there was his deposit. He had pulled out his basket, emptied it (thankfully!), then did his business and put the basket back in place. Unfortunately the basket was wicker, so his pee went thru to the floor.

Needless to say, it was quite the interesting afternoon and I did some cleaning!

More Thanksgiving Pictures

These first two pictures are probably the most precious pictures that we got during our time with Mike's parents. Connor was at first very hesitant and reluctant to go to Oompa. In fact, when we went in to say good night or go chat with him and I was holding Connor in my arms, as soon as we got within arms reach Connor just stiffened up as if to hold on for dear life and wasn't too sure about Oompa holding him. Well, after a few days, Connor decided that he'd walk right up to Oompa and wanted to sit with him. It was so touching when we saw Connor finally warm up to Oompa - and had to take some pictures!

Mike parents own race horses and go to their trainer's who lives just down the way from them and help out with those o-so-fun horse duties.
Anyway, a big highlight of visiting Grammie and Oompa are going to visit the horses and feed them carrots. Here are quite a few pictures of the kids feeding the horses.

Santa Pictures

We go to Valley Lumber's yearly Holiday Customer Appreciation Day and get pictures with Santa and enjoy all the goodies and sign up for kid and adult drawings.

This year Michael wouldn't sit on Santa's lap so Mike had to pick him up and hold him. Even though Connor would sit there, he just looked at me as if to say "what are you doing to me?"

A Beautiful Morning & Moon Set

It was amazing the other morning when I woke and saw the full moon set out my dinning room window. I didn't get the best pictures, as I actually took them from our front porch and it wasn't the same as thru our window. I also had problems steadying the camera for a good shot.

Finally - A Post about our Thanksgiving Trip!

We've all been sick for a few days and under the weather, so I haven't been feeling up to getting out the laptop and posting.

I first traveled on my own with the kids to visit my friend, Maureen, and her son, Ciaran, in Marysville before I went over to Sequim to see Mike's parents and family. I had taken Ciaran and the boys to the Boeing Flight Museum at Boeing Field and they had a blast. However, these are the only two pictures I was able to take before my batteries died - and they didn't sell any at the gift shop!

Mike met up with us a few days later (and I was happy to have him to help with the kids!). We had a wonderful visit with Mike's parents and family. We even had the luck to see and hear Coyotes on their property. We got a lot of great pictures, but a lot of them are on Mike's mom's camera, so I'll post those when I get her to email them.

After Mike left to go back home, I borrowed Mike's mom's car to drive down to Lebanon, Oregon with the kids to visit my Grandmother, Carolyn and my two Aunts, Lynette and Jackie. We had a wonderful visit. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of Jackie with the kids.

We had quite the nightmare on our drive down to Lebanon, we didn't leave until 9am and it took 9 hours, and the kids were extremely cranky. I think that's mostly due to the fact that living in Juneau they're not in their car seats for more than 10 minutes at a time. Not to mention the fact that I had to go pee pretty frequently due to my pregnancy. Anyway, the ride back to Sequim was a lot smoother. I left very early - 5am, and was able to drive almost three hours straight before our first stop to get breakfast and take a potty break. I had one hickup in Portland when I was forced to take one of two exits and I didn't know what to do, so I ended up somewhere in Portland and had to get back onto I-5, but I made it. It only took 6 1/2 hours to get back to Sequim, and the kids were much happier. The following pictures are of the kids when we were almost back to Sequim - we were waiting on the road because the Hood Canal Bridge was letting boat traffic thru. Michael was enjoying his 'hot cocoa' from Starbucks in his new Rudolf mug.
